Getting tons of calls about what happened last night at the City Hall meeting regarding STVR ordinance. Other than the portion of the ordinance where the implementation was delayed regarding the 90 day minimum, the ordinances went into effect upon passage. Persons in the residential zones will NOT be permitted to register for a new permit. Also property managers and realtors will want to make their customers aware of the 7 day requirement to notify the city upon the sale, transfer or change of management company in order for the property to have continued use as STVR. It was clarified that they do not have to apply for the new permit in that time period, but they ***must alert the city***through a process that has not yet been determined (so do it in writing!). A property like this townhome at 10A Lighthouse Lane ($585k) can be used as continued use - but when it sells, the new buyers will need to notify city immediately of closing to preserve their right.
